Pets work a little differently in Chainbreaker- You can have multiple pets at once, from multiple different classes, and charmed mobs work very differently.
Summoning pets and charming mobs
- Summoning regular pets is the same: Memorize a spell, cast it, and you have a pet.
- Charming a mob doesn't put that mob under your control, but instead creates a copy of that mob under your control, named IllusoryAlly.
- Casting the charm usually doesn't aggro mobs, but sometimes it does.
- Charmed pets follow the same rules as other pets.
- Not all mobs can be charmed. (Most named mobs are immune to charm.)
- Some mobs must be charmed to do some quest turn-ins, most notably for the Enchanter epic weapon quest.
Pet scaling
You can summon multiple pets, but each additional pet will be only 50% as strong as the previous pet, quickly introducing diminishing returns:
- 1 pet: 100% overall pet power
- 2 pets: 150% overall pet power
- 3 pets: 175% overall pet power
- 4 pets: 187.5% overall pet power
- 5 pets: 193.75% overall pet power
- 6 pets: 196.875% overall pet power
- 7 pets: 198.4375% overall pet power
Please see the Beastlord and Mage epic weapon notes, as they change scaling of pets.
